Some requirements and ideas are too vague or too general to define a solid specification from. Focal Point supports idea generation internally through campaigns and externally through integration to a customer facing website and by assisting the support and sale functions directly in Focal Point.
Managing Requirements
Requirements from customers, error reporting from support and new ideas from various sources are often decentralised and can be found in multiple spread sheets, emails or Word documents. By centralising requirement specifications you will quickly gain an overview of the requirements regardless of what point in the process they may be. Focal Point will track requirements from the idea stage through the definition process to development and finally to implementation.
Pairwise requirements prioritisation
There are considerable demands for product planning and development within a dynamic market driven environment. Both planning and development need to take into account customers and completion as well as quickly incorporate changes.
New ideas, demands during the scoping process and existing requirements, can be re-evaluated using Focal Point’s unique pair-wise comparisons functionality. Input from different customer segments, geographical markets or market-analysis can be incorporated into the dynamic prioritisation.
The comparison and prioritisation can for example help you decide when and with what content your products is taken to the market or if your products need to be differentiated according to customer or geographical segments.
Release Management
Scoping of releases and juggling time schedules can be difficult to manage in a spread sheet through emails and phone. Our solution makes it possible to scope releases from requirements which already exist in the system and our dynamic Gantt diagram gives flexibility to manipulate schedules for the entire portfolio as well as control costs and development resources.
Collaborate to identify errors and defects
The product support is often localised which makes it difficult to report and capture errors and defects for the development team. Focal Point will assist your support as well as development teams to ensure that problems will be dealt with faster and more efficiently.
Test case and user case management
Our solution makes it possible for test cases and user cases to be developed directly in the system where they can be linked directly to the appropriate requirements or features.
Manage suppliers and contracts
In many cases there is a close connection between management of the project portfolio and controlling external resources.
Supplier contracts can be stored in Focal Point and those responsible can be notified when contracts expire. The management team can obtain an overview of the financial obligations and invoices can be controlled and compared against the hourly registration.
